Whirlpool has announced around 20% of its Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines, purchased since 2014, have a door locking problem which can cause it to overheat creating a risk of fire.
All owners of a Hotpoint or Indesit washing machine are advised to check online at https://washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk to see if their machine is included in the list of models which requires repair or replacement. You can also call Whirlpool’s free helpline on 0800 316 1442 with the model number of your washing machine to check.
Please take action now! If you think you may have one of the machines impacted by the fault then you should unplug it and not to use it until you have spoken to Whirlpool directly.
