Hundred Houses Society awarded £1.06m to upgrade home energy efficiency!

Warm Homes Social Housing Fund

We are excited to announce that we have been awarded £1.06m to upgrade the energy efficiency of over 250 homes across Greater Cambridgeshire. This grant funding will be supplemented by HHS’s own investment of £1.56m, which will take the overall project investment to £2.85m.

This grant funding is part of the Government’s ‘Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund’ which focuses on improving the energy efficiency of existing homes to a minimum of an EPC band C.

Minister for Energy Consumers, Miatta Fahnbulleh, said: "Living in a warm, comfortable home should not be a luxury. It is a right that has been out of reach for too many people for too long. By giving this funding to local authorities and social housing providers we are delivering on our promise to improve the homes of thousands of people across England. As part of our Plan for Change, we are powering on with our Warm Homes Plan, upgrading cold and draughty homes so they are warmer, cleaner, and cheaper to live in."

The first phase of these energy efficiency upgrades will commence during summer 2025 and focus on the homes in Fallowfield, Cambridge.

HHS Head of Property and Sustainability, Danny Welling, said ‘We are really excited to be investing in and improving the homes we own and look forward to working closely with our customers. These energy efficiency upgrades will have a huge benefit to customers living in these homes and will help us meet our objective to provide our customers with good quality homes that are safe, well-maintained, energy-efficient and affordable’.
