Summer activities in Cambridge

Summer activities in Cambridge

Fun things to do in the Cambridge Area this Summer

Museums

Did you know that many of the University of Cambridge Museums are free to enter?  There is something for everyone from art to fossils. They all have trails and children’s activities as well.  You can find opening hours and information here: http://www.museums.cam.ac.uk/visit-us/opening-times

Cooling down

Cambridge City is well served with outdoor pools and splash-pads, you can find a full list here: https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/swimming-and-paddling-pools

There are lots of nice places to visit in our region.

Have you tried a day out in Ely?  You could go by train and perhaps walk by the river? http://visitely.eastcambs.gov.uk/

If you’d like to get out into nature, try Milton Country Park, http://www.miltoncountrypark.org/blog/2016/7/4/summer-in-the-park .  Or maybe a day out at Ferry Meadows Park, just outside Peterborough http://www.neneparktrust.org.uk/ferry-meadows ?

Staying indoors?

If you’d rather stay indoors, perhaps a trip to the cinema?  Most local cinemas have special summer screenings in the morning which can be as little as £1 per person.
