How prepared are you for Universal Credit? Take our test!

Universal Credit will gradually be introduced area by area until October 2017.  Test how prepared you are by answeing the following questions:

Do you need help using a computer?

If you answered yes you should be aware that all claims for Universal Credit  will be on-line.  This means you need to know how to use a basic computer and the internet.  If you don't know how to do this you could learn by taking a beginners course at UK On-Line Centre.  Call them on 0800 77 1234 to find your nearest centre.

If you do not have access to a computer or the internet contact your local Job Centre Plus when you claim Universal Credit and ask them for advice.  Most libraries also have computers that you can use free of charge.

If you are concerned about internet security, go to the Get Safe Online website at: www.getsafeonline.org/protecting-yourself for information  and advice.

Do you have an account to manage your money?

If you answered no to this question you will need to get one. Please note with a bank or building society account you can set up automated payments to pay your rent or other bills. A post office card account does not offer this facility presently.

If you have a partner Universal Credit will normally be paid to both of you into one account.
