You or a member of your household may find that some adaptations will make your life a lot easier.
Adaptations to your home fall under two categories:
- Minor adaptations- such as grab rails around the home
- Major adaptations- such as lifting equipment or level access showers
HHS has an annual budget for minor adaptations, so if you think you or someone in the household would benefit from a minor adaptation then please get in contact with us.
Major adaptations are generally works that will cost over £1,000 and are more complex. Customers who have a need for a major adaptation should either contact us, or contact social services. Depending on the type of work required, you may need a GP referral and/or an Occupational Therapist assessment and there may be external funding, called a Disabled Facilities Grant, available to you.
