Severe Wildfire Alert

A severe wildfire alert has been issued due to the current hot, dry conditions and there is a very high risk of wildfires across the country.

Residents are urged not to undertake any activity that could start a fire, including:

• Disposable barbecues
• Fire pits
• Garden incinerators and bonfires
• Fireworks
• Discarding cigarettes or matches

Even a small flame can quickly develop into a major fire, placing people, homes, businesses and emergency responders at risk.

We would also ask residents to:

• Keep balconies, gardens and communal areas free from combustible waste
• Report any signs of fire immediately by calling 999
• Follow guidance issued by the emergency services and local authorities.
