Tenants told us that CCTV was missing some important external areas. Their feedback showed exactly where improved coverage was needed to help residents feel safer.
In response, we installed extra cameras in the areas residents identified. It’s a simple but important example of turning feedback into action.
The improvement proved its value on 12th April, when eight youths entered the building, kicked doors and caused damage around the scheme. The new coverage captured the incident clearly.
We were able to share the footage quickly with the Police and Cambridge City Council Public Safety Team, helping identify those involved and inform their parents.
It shows how listening to residents can lead to practical improvements that make a real difference to safety and confidence in shared spaces.
