Hundred Houses tenants help shape their future services!

4 Jun 2010

Tenants of the Society have been attending a series of meetings with staff to help define the future service standards of the Society.  This is in response to the requirements of the new regulator for housing, the Tenant Services Authority, who put tenants at the heart of all services provided by housing organisations.

Discussions have focused on what the Society currently provides in terms of service standards, what tenants think of the current service provision, and what they would like to see changed.  Examples of enhanced services include clearer definitions of choices available to tenants regarding kitchen and bathroom replacements, and new specifications on the cleaning and maintenance of communal (shared) areas.

Following these meetings, a further sample of tenants will be asked their views on the initial proposals.   A document containing all of this will then be sent to all tenants by the end of September describing the proposals.  There will be further opportunity for all tenants to comment on this document before they become operational from April 2011.

Thereafter, tenants will be involved in checking and commenting on the Society's performance against the new standards.  If you are interested in being involved in these discussions, or want to know more about what is happening please contact Jerry Morson, Operations Director on 01223 376986 or email him at jmorson@hhs.org.uk.  To find out more about the Tenant Services Authority go to http://www.tenantservicesauthority.org/.
